CHALLENGE

After six years leading the Government of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez needed a digital platform to present the administration’s work and results across key areas, including education, healthcare, mobility, security, and economic development. The challenge was to organize a wide range of institutional information into a clear, engaging experience that balanced accountability with visual storytelling.

APPROACH

I organized the website around eight key areas, each with its own color and icon. This made it easier to tell the sections apart while keeping the whole experience visually connected.

For the homepage, I combined photography, video carousels, and direct access to each area. The inner pages follow the same structure, using color, imagery, and text to give each topic its own character. I kept the layouts clean and the content organized, letting the projects and stories take center stage.

RESULT

  • 1. Design, Composition and Branding

The website brings together six years of government work in a digital experience that combines institutional communication, editorial design, and audiovisual content. The challenge was to organize a large amount of information into a clear, approachable website without losing the importance of the projects and the people behind them.

What makes the design work is how it breaks down the information into different topics, gives each one its own visual identity, and makes the content easy to explore through images, text, and video.

  • 2. Information Architecture and Visual Hierarchy

The homepage serves as the starting point, introducing the Gracias, Jalisco concept before guiding users through image galleries, the eight areas of action, and a selection of video stories. This creates a natural flow from the bigger picture to specific projects, without putting too much information in front of the user at once.

  • 3. Visual Storytelling

The interface uses a clean, light background, dark typography, and color accents to keep the design consistent and easy to read. Each of the eight areas has its own color and icon, making the sections easy to recognize while keeping them connected to the overall visual identity.

  • 4. UI Components

Rounded cards, horizontal carousels, and modular layouts give the website a consistent look and feel. Photography helps tell each story, while category labels, headlines, and play icons make the content easy to identify. Gradient overlays also help text stand out over images without disrupting the visual flow.

  • 5. UX

The category shortcuts, navigation menu, and video cards give users different ways to explore the administration’s work. By combining written information with visual content, the website offers a more engaging way to browse the report and makes a large amount of institutional information easier to navigate.
